Work
Today was my second day at work. My five-day job this week includes sorting out of Chinese papers from different primary schools, marking, data-entry and shredding of the papers. The past two days were spent on sorting. Stuffs we did include erasing and shading the right particulars on the OAS answer sheet for the primary school kids. I think pretty much of them were not really used to shading sheets, could see stuffs like pen shading, different boxes shaded and multiple options being shaded in one question. We had to spend the days correcting them and ensuring that the information written are accurate. This job was recommended by Wei Ting, one of my classmate and along were NJL, Yu Xin and Yong Jian. There were a few others that Wei Ting knew as well.
This is my first time since living on this Earth for more than 16 years that I worked. I woke up at 7 each morning and took the train at 8 in the morning. I've never experienced the rush hour on train, and I realized how packed the trains are in the morning. Now I see the point of having seatless carriages. The working adults mostly read their newspaper, while some fortunate ones catch a few last minute doze on their seats. I had the music in my ear as the train wobbled.
First day, lunch was packed lunch which we went dutch. Today lunch, went to Serangoon Central there with Yong Jian, Yu Xin and NJL. Haha. I realized after doing this job, I understood money doesn't come easy. Although the job wasn't much tiring, but at least I see that its not easy to earn money. How we thought and joked that our lunch cost us one hour of our job.
Three more days left for the work. Zhou gang, jia peng, zhou gang, pang gang!*. Quite routine, at times boring. But at least I had the benefit and bonus of working with the people I know and like working with.
Perhaps that was why despite the long hours sitting, I found joy in the work. How working with the ones I knew with laughters, towards a common goal. Walking to the MRT station after work, seeing NJL chases her bus twice like an auntie. ;x
Its the people, always. =)
*Refers to work, eat and work and finish work in hokkien respectively.
