Prom

For all the walking and shopping, it all boils down to this day. Anyway, I woke up with having prom as the only plan of the day as I had mentioned. Then I realized if I had pretty much time to spare in the early afternoon, perhaps I could return back to my secondary school to attend a holiday CCA session. So around 11.10, went out and took 854 to school wearing my CCA shirt. I'm very happy to see Y, still as hyper as ever while he greeted me. Its been a long time since I last saw such energy that exists. Only a few key position holders of my department were at the Media Factory doing some recording work. I was actually expecting the whole department, but still its great to know that they are participating in competitions nowadays. A few chatters here and there, and left the place at 2pm. Lunch with my family at Fernvale and returned home.
I was having a conversation online with Wei Ping, discussing about the plans for the night. What time to reach, what would happen to that mask theme etc. My prom night, or grad nite was accompanied with a theme called Masquerade. Everyone has to don a mask for the night. My father gave me a lift to the hotel and I saw various familiar faces as I entered the lobby. Wei Ping, Wei Ming, and a few others 205 guys were already there. Had a great time chatting with them. We were rather surprised to see that our table were actually just next to the table that the 205 girls are sitting when we registered, as we did not really make a statement about it. Luck or fate, I thought we could had talked more with the chance sitting close to each other. Lots of transformations on the day. All turned into fine ladies and gentlemen for the night, dressed beautifully and smart respectively. As more people streamed into the ballroom, Jo and I waited outside for Wenbin and Weide. As the event rolled, most of us had a great time talking and joking around with each other. Guessed we hadn't really grew up from our lower secondary. All were good, clean fun. Bun, Wei Ming and Wenbin were the big bosses with their black suits while Weide was the mafia. Along the way came a few photo-taking, though it wasn't really a lot. Then came the lucky draw sessions. The only lucky guy was Bun in our table, who won a soft toy kind of shoulder massager I guessed. Pretty funny as we complained how the number could had missed ours by 1 or 2. Some were pretty close actually. The food was okay still I guessed, but I feel the most important aspect of the night was the people and the atmosphere. Fun and engaging I would say. Prom king and queen nominations were pretty exciting. YS nearly took it, while S screamed her lungs out. Weide and I were holding our bladders as we waited the chance to hit the toliet after the prom king and queen noms. The waiter was very efficient in topping up the coke in our glasses, so much so that we went to the gents for at least 5 times last night. Then came the grad nite video, which was a picture montage of our past years spent in the school. Managed to catch a few familiar faces here and there, and some paiseh moments as well.
There was this dance segment in the end where some took to the dance floor, while most of us were busy taking photographs with our classmates of four years in school. Didn't really take much pictures on my camera though, so probably I'll upload a few here. Most were with the 205 guys. Class 401 got to take a few class photos with our form teacher Mr Rod as well.
And I headed back home, thankful for my family for fetching me despite in the late hours of the night.
More or less this sums up my four years of secondary school education in the school. There were times where I had undergone vigorous activities that drained most of me, such as like my CCA, but most importantly I had forged valuable friendships. In my CCA, from my lower sec and upper sec classes. All the ups and downs, conflicts and scandals that came along, we held on till the end. They always said 401 had the worst class spirit, but I certainly beg to differ. It was one great class with interesting classmates that made up the whole picture. I'm thankful to have known all these mates for the past two years.
With this, I move on to the next chapter of my life.
Pictures gallore,
(Just like the old days.)
(The three big bosses!)
(Wei Ping's signature smile)
(Samuel and Joseph)
(Wei Ming is the best of the best!)
(Marcus and I)
(Bryant)
(Wei Ping, Wen Bin and Joseph)
(Wen Bin)
(And we thought we grew up after four years.)
(Joseph, myself and Dickson)
Cheers.
